Therapeutic bodywork rooted in over 2,000 years of Chinese medical tradition.
Tui Na is a therapeutic form of massage that's been used in China for over 2,000 years. Tui Na massage therapy is used for giving special treatments to people of all ages, from infancy to old age. This therapy is often used in conjunction with Acupuncture, Cupping and herbal treatment using Taoist and martial arts principles applying rhythmic compression techniques along different energy channels of the body to establish harmonious flow of Qi throughout the body and bringing it back into balance. Your practitioner will use any variety of hand movements including brushing, kneading, rolling, pressing, and may rub the areas between each of the joints to attempt to open the body's defensive energy and get the energy moving in the meridians and muscles by stimulating Acupressure points.
For those who merely need to release some deep muscular tensions without addressing any other medically oriented conditions, we also offer Deep Tissue Massage by our well trained and licensed massage therapist. Poor postures and body movements, as well as injury, can often lead to deep seated tensions within the body's muscle and connective tissue layers. These tensions often lead to adhesions in muscles, tendons and ligaments that block circulation and cause pain as well as limited ranges of movement and inflammation. Deep Tissue Massage alleviates these problems by physically breaking down these adhesions in order to restore proper movement and to alleviate pain.
